Painful, Beautiful Love Poems
GaLambos Á. István: Small, Big
A small heart in a big world.
A small feeling all alone.
Very little.
A great love and its small counterpart.
It buries even the huge one.
Like a dead person.
A small heart with an even smaller partner.
If it truly needs, it will find it.
It still doesn’t fit.
A small life in the big world.
A small glass in a big box.
Only I break it.
A great love? This might be it.
A little piece of my desire on the table.
Just forget me.
Still, it doesn’t fit.
GaLambos Á. István: Attention
Attention fades away. Heart, sleep now!
You can’t, you’ve hurt someone.
Words fly away, the heart sleeps.
It turns away because it’s angry at you.
Sorrow flies away, the heart wakes up.
It forgives, but you won’t notice.
Pain, but this is not my heart.
Pay attention to someone else, my dear!
GaLambos Á. István: Closure
I left, and I won’t stop,
Until my feet reach solid ground.
I left because I didn’t understand
What the heart wants, and the mind hopes.
I left you, and I won’t turn back,
If needed, maybe even with strength.
I left you, but my soul is clean,
I left you, dear little girl.
I stopped because I can’t walk forever,
I’d enjoy what life has given me.
I stopped to look around,
I saw that my ship had run aground…
GaLambos Á. István: Until I Move Out
The morning is so different when someone is waiting.
A huge feeling, no boundaries.
It’s still a joy to see you, my heart,
But I won’t wait for you any longer, I’ll move out.
The morning is so different when I wake up with you.
High-flying, glorious songs.
It’s still a joy to say your name, my heart,
But I won’t wait for you any longer, I’ll move out.
The morning is so different when I see you laugh.
My living hope and the light of the world.
It’s still a joy to hear your voice, my heart,
But I won’t wait for you any longer, I’ll move out.
The morning is so different because you’re not waiting for me.
Lonely heart, on a dead night.
It’s never a joy to let you go, my heart,
But I can’t wait for you anymore, I’ll move out.
I won’t break your heart with this,
Smile at me once, before I move out.
GaLambos Á. István: At the lake in Autumn
I sit on the shore alone, the world silent around me,
Only the water gently sings at the foot of the piers.
The leaves curl into bronze skin on the tree branches,
And they watch the autumn Balaton…
The water once exchanged its blue dress for a pale one,
But no matter which one it wore, it wore it with splendor.
Many people carried their worn-out fatigue onto it,
And it, without a murmur, gave its refreshing magic.
The children no longer shuffle, they don’t buzz, they don’t build.
The last sandcastle has finally fallen,
The fine, dusty soil has smoothed over it,
Only a few toys remain…
The booths, where delicious meals were prepared,
Now stand closed, waiting, asking, “When will I open again?”
I can still taste the ice cream on my tongue,
But it’s bitter, the sweetness never came.
No sunbathers left, wrapped in towels.
Couples, teenagers, grandmothers, lovers,
Forgetting both the past and the present at once.
So many memories and new chances…
The trains no longer blare their loud horns,
The vacation homes stand empty in their abandoned gardens.
The sailboats are swallowed by the gray infinity.
The boats rarely sail on the Hungarian sea.
A boat stands here, only a stray wave rocking it.
Sometimes the water slaps it against the pier.
Then it gently pulls it back, once it’s done.
This little boat could be me,
With the water only playing with me, I move unwillingly.
I exist like this boat, abandoned by the world.
Waiting for the spring to come, when the one who belongs to me will come.
Beautiful Love Poems for My Beloved
GaLambos Á. István: My Happiest Moments
The moments of my happiness are still running,
Since I met you, my little one.
You became my life, the heart’s every desire.
You are the only wonder in my world.
Every moment I want you with all my being.
I can barely bear the burning desire inside me.
I love you with all my heart now and forever.
Nothing and no one can separate us anymore.
GaLambos Á. István: I Am Waiting for You, My Heart Burns
I’ve been happy for a long time.
I’ve been happy for a long time because of you.
I’ve been happy for a long time, my treasure.
Because you are the sky.
Because you are the sky and life.
Because you are the sky, and the treasure of my life.
Stop the time.
Stop the time, move it forward.
Stop the time, move it forward, I’m waiting for you.
No more searching.
No more searching for me.
No more searching for me, I’m waiting for you.
Because I’m waiting, and my heart burns.
I’m waiting until the earth spins.
The sane mind is lost.
I’m waiting, tears fall.
From my eyes, when you leave.
My heart burns. Still!
Let’s push time!
I’m waiting, and everything is good.
When you step back onto the stage again.
GaLambos Á. István: A Happy Love Poem
The world dressed in pink for me.
It knows well what I’m going through.
I only asked for my happiness from you.
And you brought the spring of my heart.
Birds sing and everything is cheerful.
Life is now a sugar glaze.
I smile constantly, nothing affects me.
What the boss is explaining right now.
I walk the streets, and so many people.
Their noses still point down.
Many boys and girls will be happy someday.
When they finally find their partner.
I found you, my treasure, everything bloomed.
My body is filled with positive fever.
I draw strength from your miraculous being.
You could mesmerize me at any moment.
I love you. I love you, as long as the world exists.
Beautiful Love Poems for My Darling
GaLambos Á. István: My Shield
In my evenings, loneliness lives.
It bites me again, it finds me again.
Your remedy, you are to me.
Your embrace is my destiny.
My shield. My protection.
No matter where I look, there’s no mystery.
Your face circles before me.
Lift the shield before me now.
Don’t let it pierce the heart’s wound.
The loneliness. The confusion.
You are the shield, protect me like this.
The night calls me into loneliness.
I beg fate.
Let it be here by morning.
My shield. My life.
GaLambos Á. István: Goodnight My Love
As the night spins its net around the day.
I embrace you inseparably.
The heart knows when someone is already its own.
Like yours, irreversibly.
Because I’m yours by day and by night.
Even when I’m not present, I still feel you.
Summer is the most beautiful symbol of our love.
My body always longs for you.
But here we are at the beginning of the night.
We must wait for it to slowly end.
So we can see each other again, sweet, you and me.
Good night, my dear, sleep in peace.
GaLambos Á. István: Battle of Worlds
A battle of worlds rages,
Dark against light.
The day falls to the ground.
Shadows rise above you.
You know them now.
They come every night.
A guitar quietly plays.
And they disappear.
My guitar hums.
It plays its melody.
A song plays in your heart.
I give it to you forever.
If you love me,
You won’t stop it.
But let it pass.
Let the light be in you forever.
